What lip blushing training prepares you for
Lip blushing asks for a lighter hand and a different eye than brows. Thin lip tissue, natural color variation and a longer healing curve all shape how you work. Here is what the three days at Elite Permanent Makeup and Cosmetology College build toward, who tends to thrive in the class, and how lip services can fit into a growing permanent makeup business.
Reading Natural Lip Color
You will practice judging each client's natural lip tone, from warm pink to cooler or deeper shades, so pigment choices look soft once healed rather than bright on the day. That judgment matters more on lips than almost anywhere else.
Shaping a Balanced Border
Much of the work is learning to follow, soften or gently refine the lip border without overdrawing it. You will see how small adjustments at the cupid's bow and the corners change the look of the whole mouth.
Who Thrives in Class
The course suits brow artists ready for a second service, makeup artists moving into pigment work and patient beginners. People who enjoy careful, repetitive detail and calm client conversations usually find lip work especially rewarding.
A Feel for Course Days
Expect a steady rhythm: theory and demonstrations first, then supervised practice on synthetic skin, then your live model with an instructor beside you. Bring reading glasses if you use them, a notebook and plenty of questions.
Explaining Healing to Clients
Freshly tinted lips commonly look brighter and a little swollen, then soften as they heal. Part of the training is learning to describe that arc honestly, so clients arrive at their perfecting session with realistic expectations.
Adding Lips to Your Menu
Lips pair naturally with brows, since many brow clients ask about color next. At Elite's own salon, lip blushing is priced from $350 to $700 depending on the artist level, a useful reference as you set your own rates.

Before you register
Where are you located?
We are located in West Los Angeles. Our address is as follows: 11961 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, 90025.
What are the requirements before taking the course?
You will need to complete an online Blood Borne Pathogen Training for Los Angeles County. You will need to be certified by the Los Angeles Health Department as a Body Art Practitioner in order to legally work on a model.
We can register you with the health department for an additional charge of $100, just make sure to email us your blood-borne certificate prior to attending the training.
Will I work on a model?
Yes! We provide you with one live model which you will work on with an instructor.
Will I receive a kit?
Yes, you will get kit that includes pigment, needles and accessories.
What if I am coming from out of state?
Not to worry, we have years of experience training students from all over the world. If you are coming from out of state, you will need to be registered as a body art practitioner in Los Angeles in order to work on the model provided in the course.
In addition, when returning home, you will need to get registered in your local county as a body art practitioner in order to legally work on your clients.
Do I need a California license to offer lip blushing after the course?
Lip blushing counts as permanent cosmetics, which California's Safe Body Art Act treats as body art. You must be at least 18, register with the health department in the county where you work, complete bloodborne pathogens training, and renew both every year. The state cosmetology board does not regulate cosmetic tattooing, so your county registration is what matters.
How much should I practice after the class?
Plan on several weeks of work on synthetic lip skins, then book a few reduced-price models once your lines and color packing feel consistent. Photograph every session in the same light so you can compare progress and share results with your instructor for feedback.
Can lip blushing be combined with other courses?
Yes. Lips pair well with Powder Brows or Semi-Permanent Eyeliner, since all of them use a PMU machine. Elite's Triple Course bundles three techniques for $6,900, saving $1,600 compared with separate tuition, and reserves with a $500 deposit. Ask the team which combinations fit your goals.
What about clients with dark or cool-toned lips?
Deeper or cooler lips sometimes need color correction before a pink or rose shade will heal evenly. Elite offers lip neutralization as a separate service, and knowing when to plan for it, or refer a client for it, is worth discussing with your instructor.
How much is the training?
The full cost of the training is $2,500 which can be financed or paid in full.
How do I pay?
You must leave a deposit of $250 in order to save your seat for your desired training date. You can also pay for the course in full or finance it with split payments. If you are not financing the course, the full balance will be due on the first day of class.
Can I pay with credit/debit card?

When is my balance due?
