What Is Financial Aid?
California and federal programs are designed specifically to fund vocational training for people entering skilled trades like permanent makeup, microblading, and cosmetology. Elite PMU is a state-approved provider under all five programs listed below.
Funding Programs
The federal WIOA program funds job training for adults and displaced workers. It can cover full tuition costs for approved vocational programs including PMU and cosmetology at Elite.
California's job training portal connects eligible workers to funded retraining opportunities. Ideal for those transitioning careers or re-entering the workforce in a skilled trade.
A local workforce center serving the South Bay area that connects job seekers to training, funding, and employment resources. Elite PMU works directly with their counselors.
California's EDD provides unemployment insurance, workforce services, and training funds. If you're receiving UI benefits, you may be eligible to apply those funds toward training at Elite PMU.
California's DOR funds vocational training for individuals with disabilities to help them achieve meaningful, stable employment. PMU and cosmetology are recognized career paths under this program.

Most of these programs are grant-based — you do not repay them. WIOA, EDD Training Funds, and DOR are all non-repayable. CalJobs and One Stop are also typically grant-funded. An advisor will confirm what applies to your specific case.

WIOA and DOR can sometimes cover supplies and kit fees in addition to tuition, depending on your individual grant. EDD typically covers tuition only. We'll clarify the exact breakdown once we know which program you're approved for.
Yes. WIOA and CalJobs serve employed workers who want to advance their skills or transition to a new career. You do not need to be unemployed to qualify for several of these programs.
