You will learn how to properly correct the color of a brow that has turned slightly blue or red. Once corrected, you can then apply any eyebrow technique.

How powder brow skills grow your business
Powder and ombré brows give clients a soft, filled look that many prefer to crisp hair strokes, and artists often find them a good option for oily or mature skin. This section covers what you will practice across three days at Elite Permanent Makeup and Cosmetology College, who the course fits, and how shading work strengthens a brow-focused business.
Building Even Shading
You will learn to layer pigment in light passes, controlling machine speed and hand movement so tone builds gradually. The goal is a smooth gradient with no patchy spots or harsh edges once the skin has healed.
Designing a Natural Gradient
Students practice keeping the brow head airy and deepening toward the arch and tail, then adjusting that balance for each face. Getting the transition right is what keeps powder brows from looking drawn on with a pencil.

Bloodborne Pathogen Certificate
Before training, you will need to take an online bloodborne pathogen training course to understand the fundamentals of how to work with blood and also get certified to practice in the state of California. The certificate is only valid for one year and needs to be renewed annually.

Before you register
What are the requirements before taking the course?
You will need to complete an online Blood Borne Pathogen Training for Los Angeles County. You will need to be certified by the Los Angeles Health Department as a Body Art Practitioner in order to legally work on a model.
We can register you with the health department for an additional charge of $100, just make sure to email us your blood-borne certificate prior to attending the training.
Will I receive a kit?
Yes, you will get kit that includes pigment, needles and accessories.
What if I am coming from out of state?
Not to worry, we have years of experience training students from all over the world. If you are coming from out of state, you will need to be registered as a body art practitioner in Los Angeles in order to work on the model provided in the course.
In addition, when returning home, you will need to get registered in your local county as a body art practitioner in order to legally work on your clients.
What do I need to work on brow clients in California after graduating?
Powder brow work counts as permanent cosmetics, which California's Safe Body Art Act treats as body art. You must be at least 18, register with the health department in the county where you work, complete bloodborne pathogens training, and renew both every year. Clients also sign an informed consent form and receive written aftercare instructions under the same law.
Should I learn powder brows or microblading first?
Either order works. Some artists start with microblading to understand brow shape and hair direction, while others go straight to machine shading. If you want both, ask about the Triple Course, which bundles three techniques for $6,900 and saves $1,600 on tuition.
How do I keep improving after the course?
Keep a photo log of healed results from your early models, since healed brows teach more than fresh ones. Seeing the same models at their four to six week perfecting visit shows exactly how your shading settled and where to adjust pressure or passes.
Can I add nano brows or eyeshadow later?
Yes. Elite's Semi-Permanent Eyeshadow course lists Powder/Ombré training as its prerequisite, and Nano Brows is a three-day course that builds on machine experience. Powder brows is often the gateway to these more detailed machine techniques.
How do I pay?
You must leave a deposit of $500 in order to save your seat for your desired training date. You can also pay for the course in full or finance it with split payments. If you are not financing the course, the full balance will be due on the first day of class.
Can I pay with credit/debit card?
Yes, you can pay with card although there will be a slight fee to cover the processing. If you wish to avoid this small fee, you can pay the deposit ($250) and pay the balance on the first day of class in cash, check, or money order.
