Learning saline removal the careful way
Removal work asks for patience, honest consultations and a solid understanding of how pigment behaves in skin. This section explains what the one-day course at Elite Permanent Makeup and Cosmetology College prepares you to do, who it suits, what the day looks like and how correction services can support a permanent makeup practice built on trust.
Lifting Unwanted Pigment
You will learn how a saline solution is worked into tattooed skin so pigment can rise toward the surface as the area heals. The focus is controlled, even work that respects the skin rather than aggressive passes.
Planning a Session Series
Removal rarely happens in one visit. At Elite's own studio, saline removal usually takes two to four sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart, and you will learn to map out that timeline with clients from the start.
Who Should Enroll
The course is built for artists who already have permanent makeup training and want to correct their own work or help clients unhappy with old brows, eyeliner or lips. A calm, reassuring manner matters with these clients.
How the Day Unfolds
Expect theory on skin layers and healing, then demonstrations and guided practice. Because removal clients are often anxious, part of the day covers consultation language and how to describe realistic, gradual progress.
Saline Compared With Laser
Saline is often chosen for thin skin around the eyes and lips, and it avoids the risk of some cosmetic pigments darkening under laser. Knowing when to refer a client to a laser provider instead is equally important.

Bloodborne Pathogen Certificate
Before training, you will need to take an online bloodborne pathogen training course to understand the fundamentals of how to work with blood and also get certified to practice in the state of California. The certificate is only valid for one year and needs to be renewed annually.

Will I see a live procedure?
Yes! You will view a live procedure done by our elite instructors or Mahnaz herself.
What are the requirements before taking the course?
You will need to complete an online Blood Borne Pathogen Training for Los Angeles County. You will need to be certified by the Los Angeles Health Department as a Body Art Practitioner in order to legally work on a model.
We can register you with the health department for an additional charge of $100, just make sure to email us your blood-borne certificate prior to attending the training.
What if I am coming from out of state?
Not to worry, we have years of experience training students from all over the world. If you are coming from out of state, you will need to be registered as a body art practitioner in Los Angeles in order to work on the model provided in the course.
In addition, when returning home, you will need to get registered in your local county as a body art practitioner in order to legally work on your clients.
Can I remove body tattoos with this training?
Elite's own removal service is limited to cosmetic tattoos such as brows, eyeliner and lips, and does not treat body tattoos. Large body pieces are usually referred to laser providers. Ask the team how far the course covers other areas before planning your service list.
What should I check about licensing before offering removal in California?
California's Safe Body Art Act defines body art as piercing, tattooing, branding and permanent cosmetics, and does not name removal. Your county body art registration is the usual starting point, but confirm with your county environmental health office that it covers saline removal where you work.
How do I practice after the course?
Continue on synthetic skin to refine even, controlled passes, then work on models with small, older cosmetic tattoos. Photograph each area before every session and at each six to eight week check so you can judge progress objectively.
Does removal pair with other courses?
Removal fits naturally beside Microblading, Powder Brows and Lip Blushing, since you can lighten old work before redoing it. Paramedical and Scar Camouflage training is another option for artists drawn to corrective, confidence-building work.
How do I pay?
You must leave a deposit of $250 in order to save your seat for your desired training date. You can also pay for the course in full or finance it with split payments. If you are not financing the course, the full balance will be due on the first day of class.
Can I pay with credit/debit card?
Yes, you can pay with card although there will be a slight fee to cover the processing. If you wish to avoid this small fee, you can pay the deposit ($250) and pay the balance on the first day of class in cash, check, or money order.
