Kat’s career in Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) was a natural evolution from his five-plus years as a tattoo artist. His journey began under the guidance of renowned SMP expert Picasso Jeff in Hollywood, California, where he quickly mastered the craft. His dedication to his profession led him to apprentice and train alongside Jeff in LA, eventually earning his Master Trainer Status through LDRS Academy.
He is widely known for his expertise in creating true-natural hairlines, a critical skill in achieving undetectable SMP results. Kat’s curriculum is advanced, teaching students five different styles of hairlines. Crucially, he trains artists on the process of co-creating the perfect, customized hairline for each individual client, ensuring the most realistic and flattering outcome.
His expertise and passion for teaching have taken him across the United States, from Alaska to Chicago, and around the world to Canada, Spain, Serbia, Croatia, Italy, and Vietnam. Known for his patience and genuine care for his students’ success, Kat became the first SMP artist to introduce Scalp Micropigmentation to Sviato Academy in Europe.
Today, Kat owns INK HDZ Scalp Micropigmentation in Santa Monica, California. He also holds the distinguished role of Resident SMP Master Trainer at Elite Permanent Makeup & Cosmetology College, where he works alongside PMU Grand Master, CEO, and founder, Mahnaz Bahaelou.
