The Truth About PMU Longevity for Scar Camouflage

If you’re considering permanent makeup (PMU) for scar camouflage, you’re probably wondering: How long do the results last? While PMU is designed to be long-lasting, several factors can influence its durability. Whether you’re camouflaging surgical scars, stretch marks, or other imperfections, understanding what affects PMU longevity and how to maintain the results is key.

How Long Does Scar Camouflage Last?

General Longevity Expectations

Permanent makeup for scar camouflage typically lasts between 3 to 5 years before a touch-up is needed. However, some clients experience results that last even longer, depending on their skin type, lifestyle, and post-care routine.

Stretch Marks and PMU: How Long Does It Last on Stretch Marks?

For individuals using PMU to cover stretch marks, the duration may vary slightly. Since stretch mark tissue is different from normal skin, it might require additional sessions to ensure even pigmentation. With proper care, results can last 3 to 6 years.

Factors That Affect the Longevity of Scar Camouflage

1. Skin Type and Regeneration

  • Oily skin tends to break down pigment faster.
  • Dry skin may retain pigment longer but might experience some flaking.
  • Stretch marks on more elastic skin may hold color differently than scars on firmer areas.

2. Sun Exposure and UV Damage

Sun exposure is one of the biggest culprits for pigment fading. Stretch marks and scars that are exposed to UV rays without protection may lose their camouflage effect faster.

3. Skincare Routine & Chemical Exposure

  • Exfoliating products (AHAs, BHAs, retinoids) can fade pigment faster.
  • Harsh skincare treatments like chemical peels can reduce PMU longevity on stretch marks and scars.

4. Depth of Pigment Implantation

Deeper pigmentation lasts longer but must be applied carefully to avoid an unnatural look. Stretch mark camouflage may require multiple layers to build up natural-looking results.

Tips to Extend the Lifespan of Scar Camouflage PMU

1. Protect Treated Areas from Sunlight

  • Always apply SPF 50+ sunscreen on the treated area.
  • Wear protective clothing over scar and stretch mark camouflage areas when exposed to direct sunlight.

2. Follow the Recommended Aftercare Routine

  • Keep the area moisturized with a PMU-safe lotion.
  • Avoid swimming, saunas, or excessive sweating for at least 2 weeks post-procedure.

3. Schedule Touch-Up Sessions

To maintain the best results, schedule a touch-up every 12-24 months. This helps refresh any fading areas, especially on stretch marks and scarred skin.

Common Myths About PMU Longevity

Myth 1: PMU for Scar Camouflage Lasts Forever

Truth: While PMU is long-lasting, it does fade over time and requires maintenance.

Myth 2: Stretch Marks Require Only One Session

Truth: Multiple sessions may be necessary to fully blend stretch marks with the surrounding skin tone.

Myth 3: You Can Use Any Skincare Product Over PMU

Truth: Certain products, like retinoids and exfoliants, can accelerate fading.

Stretch marks are a common concern for many women, especially after pregnancy or significant weight changes. While they are completely natural, they can sometimes make people feel self-conscious. But what if there was a way to reduce their appearance without surgery? Stretch mark camouflage with permanent makeup (PMU) is a revolutionary technique that helps blend stretch marks into your natural skin tone, giving you a smoother, more even complexion.

What Is Stretch Mark Camouflage?

A Permanent Makeup Solution for Stretch Marks

Stretch mark camouflage is a specialized PMU procedure that uses custom-blended pigments to match your natural skin color, making stretch marks less visible. Unlike laser treatments or creams, this technique provides long-lasting results with minimal downtime.

How Does It Work?

The procedure involves:

  • Color-matching pigments to seamlessly blend with your skin.
  • Micropigmentation techniques to deposit pigments into the stretch marks.
  • Stimulating collagen production to improve skin texture and elasticity.

Benefits of Stretch Mark Camouflage with PMU

1. Restores a Natural Skin Tone

Stretch marks often appear lighter than the surrounding skin. PMU camouflage helps to even out skin tone, making them much less noticeable.

2. Long-Lasting Results

Unlike topical creams that require constant application, PMU results last for years, making it a worthwhile investment.

3. Boosts Confidence

Whether it’s on the stomach, thighs, hips, or breasts, stretch marks can affect confidence. This treatment helps individuals feel more comfortable in their own skin.

4. Non-Invasive & Safe

No surgery, no lasers, and minimal discomfort—just a simple pigmentation process that blends naturally with your skin.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Stretch Mark Camouflage?

Ideal Candidates:

  • Individuals with mature stretch marks (at least 12 months old).
  • Those with lighter or white stretch marks rather than dark or purple ones.
  • People looking for a non-surgical, long-term solution.

Who Should Avoid This Treatment?

  • Those with keloid-prone skin.
  • People with very fresh stretch marks (they need time to settle before treatment).
  • Anyone with certain skin conditions or allergies (consultation required).

What to Expect During the Procedure

Step 1: Consultation & Color Matching

A consultation with a PMU specialist ensures that the pigments match your exact skin tone for a seamless blend.

Step 2: Pigment Application

Using a specialized PMU device, pigments are deposited into the stretch marks. The process is painless for most clients, though some may experience mild discomfort.

Step 3: Healing Process & Aftercare

Healing takes about 4-6 weeks, during which you may experience some slight fading as the pigments settle. Aftercare includes:

  • Keeping the area moisturized.
  • Avoiding direct sun exposure.
  • Following up with touch-up sessions for best results.

How Long Do the Results Last?

Results typically last 3 to 5 years, depending on your skin type, sun exposure, and lifestyle habits.

Common Myths About Stretch Mark Camouflage

Myth 1: It Works on Any Stretch Mark

Truth: The technique is most effective on mature, lighter-colored stretch marks.

Myth 2: The Results Are Immediate

Truth: The color will take a few weeks to fully develop as the skin heals.

Myth 3: It’s Just Like a Tattoo

Truth: PMU uses skin-safe pigments that are designed to fade naturally over time, unlike traditional tattoo ink.

Why Choose Elite PMU for Stretch Mark Camouflage?

At Elite PMU, we specialize in cutting-edge PMU techniques that enhance natural beauty. Our experts use top-quality pigments and precision application to ensure your stretch marks blend seamlessly with your skin.

How Much Does A Licensed Cosmetologist Make In California?

There are numerous opportunities for licensed cosmetologists because the beauty industry in the state is competitive and vibrant. However, how much you earn depends on various factors since there is no fixed rate for offering cosmetology services in the state. While you can charge between $12 to $18 per hour for your services, clients can pay more when you offer high-quality services. The following are factors that can influence how much you can make in California as a cosmetologist.

Experience and expertise

As a newbie in the beauty field, you can charge about $12 to $18 per hour for a start for your cosmetology services. However, experienced experts with advanced skills can charge more than that. You can also increase your rate when you offer specialized services.

High-quality service

Providing quality services that meet the highest standard increases your rate card and how much you can earn in a week or month. Your clients will likely return when you’re satisfied with your service. You can also earn extra through tips and additional charges.

Location

The area in which you offer your services is another factor that can impact how much you earn as a licensed cosmetologist. You can charge more when in a major city like Los Angeles because the city has a high demand for beauty services.

Location

Apart from the location, your work environment can influence the amount you charge for beauty services. For example, a cosmetologist charges more in a high-end or luxury salon, especially one with up-to-date and modern facilities.

Average Salary After Cosmetology Course in 2025

_________________________________

Average Salary After Cosmetology Course

Based on trends and projections from my knowledge as of April 2024, cosmetology graduates in Los Angeles in 2025 typically earn between $30,000-$45,000 in their first year after completing their course, though this can vary significantly based on factors like workplace location, specialization, and clientele. Entry-level positions at established salons in trendy areas like Beverly Hills or West Hollywood tend to offer higher starting salaries, while those in suburban areas might start lower but often provide more stable hours.

However, many cosmetologists in LA work as independent contractors or booth renters, which can lead to higher earnings potential but less predictable income, especially in the first few years. These professionals can potentially earn upwards of $60,000 annually once they build a steady client base and gain experience, particularly if they develop expertise in high-demand services like hair coloring, extensions, or specialized skincare treatments.

What Is The Microblading Procedure in Los Angeles?

_________________________________

Why Exactly Nano Brow Training?

Microblading is a form of permanent makeup that involves inserting the best PMU pigments into the upper layers of the skin to shape the eyebrows. It’s a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that makeup artists use to simulate your hair strokes to enhance the appearance of your brows. Unlike traditionally drawing your brows, microblading is best performed by an expert to get the desired result.

The result of a microblading procedure is incredibly natural and can last for as long as 12 to 24 months. Below is a breakdown of how this process works:

Step 1: Consultation & Interview

The first step is to speak to an expert about the procedure and your expectations. At this point, you can ask questions or tell the technician your desired eyebrow shape or color. Our specialist also examines your natural eyebrows to determine the best techniques for a stunning result.

Step 2: Eyebrows Mapping and Design

This is a crucial part of the procedure, as our technician uses a pencil to outline the shape and arch of your new brows. This ensures that your brows design is even, looks natural, suits your facial symmetry, and aligns with your preferences.

Step 3: Creating Comfort With Numbing Creams

Microblading can be painful, but you don’t need to worry, as we’ve covered you. We prioritize our client’s comfort, so we apply numbing cream to the eyebrow area before the procedure begins. This will help to minimize any pain you might feel during the session.

Step 4: Crafting the Brows Using a Microblade

This is the main step in microblading, and it requires technical precision from an expert for a perfect outcome. The technician uses tiny, fine-point needles (microblades) to etch hair-like strokes into the skin around the brow area. The artist needs to apply each stroke to emulate your natural eyebrow hair.

Step 5: Pigment Application and Final Touches

After etching the initial strokes into your skin, the next step is applying more pigments to the eyebrow area. This will help you achieve a more defined and fuller appearance. We also ensure the right color and shade match your natural hair.

Is Microblading Painful?

_________________________________

Cost Of Nano Brow Training Courses in Los Angeles

Although you will likely experience discomfort during a microblading procedure, the process is not considered as painful as many people fear it to be. During the process, you will feel a sensation similar to itching or light scratching. Also, the pain and discomfort you feel during microblading are less intense than a tattoo.

Since people’s tolerance levels vary, some may be more sensitive to the pain than others. However, the pain typically subsides after a few hours or days. Our technician also applies numbing cream to the brow areas to help minimize discomfort during and after the procedure. In addition, we provide aftercare instructions to help speed up your healing process.

Nano Brow Training for Beginners: Requirements to Start

You must follow the technician’s proper aftercare instructions for a seamless healing process and an effective result. The following are essential microblading aftercare tips.

  • After a microblading procedure, keep your face as dry as possible. Avoid sweating excessively or getting the treated area wet during showers.

  • Be gentle with your face when cleaning. Don’t scratch or rub the brow area for at least one week. Instead, use baby wipes or a mild cleanser.

  • Avoid products that contain acids or exfoliants on the brow area. Also, don’t use your skincare product except the ointment recommended by the technician.

  • Use Aquaphor ointment on the area for 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure. We recommend Aquaphor because it doesn’t cause inflammation.

  • Avoid exposing your face to excessive sunlight so the pigment color doesn’t fade. You can use sunscreen to protect the area until you’re fully healed.

  • To prevent contamination and infection, do not apply makeup, creams, or lotions to the area for at least 10 days after the procedure.

  • Remember to go for follow-up appointments so the specialist can handle concerns. You may also need touch-ups in areas where the pigment is fading.

  • Always follow the technician’s advice, instructions, and guidelines. Ask questions when confused, and ensure that you use only approved products.

How Long Does Microblading Last

_________________________________

Nano Brow Training Online Vs. In-Person Courses

Microblading can last one to three years. However, factors such as your skin type, lifestyle, aftercare, and age can influence its longevity. For instance, the pigment tends to fade faster in individuals with oily skin than in those with dry skin. Proper aftercare can also help you heal faster and give you a long-lasting result.

To maintain a clean and fresh look, we advise you to visit your technician for touch-ups at least every 12 to 18 months. This will also ensure hair strands don’t grow in unwanted areas of your eyebrows. It’s also important not to expose yourself to frequent sunlight and engage in physical activities that will make you sweat excessively.

Microblading Vs. Powder Brows

_________________________________

Nano Brow Training Online Vs. In-Person Courses

Microblading and powder brows are popular procedures for eyebrow enhancement. However, they have certain differences, which we will share below.

  • In terms of appearance, microblading gives a more natural look, while powder brows are ideal for a more filled-in look.

In microblading, the technician uses a handheld tool with tiny needles to apply pigment to your skin, while powder brows involve the use of a PMU machine and different PMU cartridges.

Frequently Asked Questions

_________________________________

How many years does it take for microblading to fade completely?

It can take up to three years for microblading to fate completely. However, your lifestyle, the skincare products you use, and how well you care for your eyebrows can affect the fading process. Another factor to consider is your skin type, as oily skin tends to make microblading fate faster than dry skin.

What happens if I don’t touch up my microblading?

Touching your brows up is important because it helps keep your brows looking fresh and nice. When you don’t touch it up, its pigment gradually fades, allowing hair strands to grow in unwanted areas of your brows. This can also make your brows appear uneven.

Is it bad to get your eyebrows microbladed every year?

Getting your brows microbladed every year is possible and will help keep your brows looking sharp and nice. However, we recommend you give your microblading process a space of 12 to 18 months. You can also consult an expert on the exact duration you need to wait before the next procedure.

Do you still have to fill in brows after microblading?

You may not have to fill in brows after microblading because the procedure gives you a fuller and more defined look. However, you can use a brow pencil or powder to fill in any gap or enhance your brow shape. You can also fill in your brows when the pigment begins to fail.

What will ruin microblading?

Excess sun exposure, too much sweating, poor aftercare, and certain medications can ruin microblading and make your eyebrows appear rough and uneven. It’s best to seek recommendations for the right aftercare products to use after the procedure. This will ensure you get a product that suits your skin type.

PMU needles explained

_________________________________

Permanent makeup (PMU) cartridges are pre-sterilized, single-use needle configurations that attach to a PMU machine. PMU cartridges are used to deposit pigment into the skin for procedures like eyeliner, lip blush, and eyebrows. Unlike traditional tattoo needles, PMU needles are much finer to create delicate lines and details on the face. They come in various configurations, such as round for precise lines or flat for shading, and sizes to impact pigment saturation and stroke thickness. Choosing the right needle is crucial for achieving the desired permanent makeup effect.

When it comes to achieving perfect, natural-looking eyebrows with permanent makeup (PMU), the right needles are essential. Elite PMU Shop offers a wide variety of PMU cartridges to meet your specific needs.  For creating hair-like strokes, opt for round liners in sizes like 1RL or 3RL. These needles deliver precise lines ideal for detailed work. For fuller brows or shading, consider flat needles like 5F or 7F, which deposit more pigment at once. Remember, selecting the right needle size is crucial for optimal results. Consult with a licensed PMU professional to determine the perfect fit for your technique and desired eyebrow style.

Explore Elite PMU Shop’s extensive selection of PMU cartridges and find the needles that will help you create flawless brows!

What cartridges are best for lip blush?

_________________________________

The ideal cartridge for lip blush depends on the desired outcome. For a soft, blended look, consider round shaders like the 3RS or 5RS. These distribute pigment gently and are suitable for clients with sensitive skin or those seeking a natural enhancement. For bolder lip definition, a 3RL or 5RL cartridge might be a better choice. These create precise lines and can be used for outlining the lips or creating a crisp cupid’s bow. When choosing a size, remember that a smaller needle diameter (like .30mm) deposits less pigment per pass, leading to a more subtle result. Achieve fuller-looking lips or camouflage scars with a larger diameter needle (like .35mm). For top-tier PMU cartridges designed for delicate lip blushing, visit the Elite PMU Shop. Our extensive selection ensures you’ll find the perfect fit for your client’s needs.

Tips for Makeup Artists: Achieve Natural-Looking Eyebrows With PMU Cartridges

_________________________________

The following tips can help you achieve great eyebrows for your clients using makeup cartridges.

  • Communicate With Your Client
To provide excellent service, you must understand your client’s preferences and expectations. Ask them what kind of eyebrow shape or thickness they want. This will also tell you the specific cartridge and needle you need to use to give them a perfect eyebrow.
  • Remain Patient and Focus
Although makeup cartridges help with precision, you must remain patient and focused to create natural-looking eyebrows for clients. You don’t have to rush the process since every detail is vital to achieving great results. Also, ensure that your client is very comfortable throughout the makeup session.
  • Get the Right Needle Configuration
Finer needles with tapered points are great for achieving natural-looking brows. However, the perfect needle configuration minimizes skin trauma and enhances the eyebrows’ realism. Our makeup cartridges come in various configurations to let you create texture and depth for a natural gradient effect.

  • Choose the Right Pigment
When choosing color pigments for your client, look at their skin tone and hair color to know the shade that complements them seamlessly. You can also factor in their preferences if the result is still lovely. We recommend pigments with softer or lighter shades for a more natural appearance.
  • Follow Aftercare Instructions

Frequently Asked Questions

_________________________________

How to read PMU needles?

To read PMU needles, start by identifying the needle type and its scale. Align the needle tip with the desired marking on the scale, considering the angle for proper pigment depth. Practice and seek guidance from a professional for optimal results.

_________________________________

Which needle is best for ombre brows?

The best needle for ombre brows typically depends on the desired effect and the artist’s preference.

However, nano needles are often favored due to their ability to create a more subtle, shaded effect that mimics the appearance of naturally filled-in brows. They are smaller and more delicate than other needle types, allowing for finer lines and a more gradual transition between colors.

Ultimately, the best needle choice will depend on the specific technique and desired outcome. Consulting with a skilled PMU artist can help you determine the most suitable needle for your ombre brow treatment.

_________________________________

What is the difference between 1RL and 3RL tattoo needles?

1RL and 3RL tattoo needles differ in their configuration:

  • 1RL: This needle has a single round tip, making it ideal for fine lines and delicate details. It’s often used for shading and outlining.
  • 3RL: This needle has three round tips arranged in a line. It’s designed for filling in larger areas with a solid color, creating a more textured appearance.

Essentially, 1RL is better suited for precision and detail, while 3RL is more efficient for covering larger areas with a consistent color.

_________________________________

What is a 3RL good for?

A 3RL PMU needle is best suited for:

  • Microblading: Creating fine, hair-like strokes that mimic natural eyebrows.
  • Soft shading: Achieving a subtle, diffused effect for eyeliner or lips.
  • Ombre brows: Gradually transitioning from a lighter to a darker shade for a more natural look.

It’s important to note that needle choice can vary depending on the desired outcome, individual preferences, and the artist’s expertise.

_________________________________

What needle depth for microshading?

The ideal needle depth for microshading typically ranges from 0.25mm to 0.35mm. This depth allows for precise pigment placement and creates a soft, shaded effect. However, individual needs and skin conditions may vary, so it’s important to consult with a qualified PMU artist for personalized recommendations.

Elite Permanent Makeup & Training Center is renowned for the commitment to providing the highest quality products and services to permanent makeup artists. One of our standout offerings is our exceptional selection of PMU pigments. Carefully created and curated to meet the demands of professionals, these pigments are renowned for their vibrant colors, long-lasting results, and safe composition, making them a top choice for creating stunning and natural-looking permanent makeup.

What Are PMU Pigments Made Of?

PMU pigments are the foundation of permanent makeup procedures. They are used to deposit color into the skin, creating natural-looking enhancements for eyebrows, eyeliner, lips, and more. But what exactly are PMU pigments made of?

There are two main types of PMU pigments: organic and inorganic.

  • Organic pigments are derived from natural sources such as vegetable dyes and minerals. They tend to be more vibrant in color, but they may also be more prone to fading and allergic reactions.
  • Inorganic pigments are synthetic pigments made from metal oxides. They are generally more stable and less likely to fade or cause allergic reactions, but they may not be as vibrant as organic pigments.

Most PMU pigments today are a hybrid blend of organic and inorganic pigments. This allows manufacturers to create pigments that offer the best of both worlds: vibrancy, longevity, and safety.

What Is The Best Pigment For Microblading?

The best PMU pigments for microblading will depend on a number of factors, including your client’s skin type, desired color outcome, and budget.

pmu brow pigments

  • Skin type: Oily skin tends to break down pigments more quickly, so you may want to choose a pigment with a higher concentration of inorganic ingredients. Dry skin, on the other hand, can better accommodate organic pigments.
  • Desired color outcome: If your client wants a very crisp, dark brow, then a pigment with a high concentration of inorganic pigments may be the best choice. However, if your client is looking for a softer, more natural look, then a pigment with a blend of organic and inorganic pigments may be preferable.
  • Budget: Organic pigments are generally less expensive than inorganic pigments. However, you will likely need to use more organic pigment to achieve the same level of saturation as inorganic pigment.

Best PMU Pigments For Ombre Eyebrows

Choosing the right pigment is essential for achieving beautiful ombre eyebrows. Ombre eyebrows require a pigment that can create a soft gradation of color, from light at the beginning of the brow to darker at the tail.

When selecting pigments for ombre brows, consider pigments that are designed to blend seamlessly and are less concentrated than those used for solid-filled brows.

Ultimately, the best PMU pigment for ombre eyebrows depends on your client’s skin tone and desired results. However, we recommend starting with a lighter pigment and layering it to achieve the desired effect. This allows for more control and reduces the risk of creating too dark brows.

Best PMU Pigments For Lips

Choosing the right pigment is crucial for a beautiful, natural-looking lip blush. Lip pigments should be formulated with sheerness and translucency in mind, allowing them to blend seamlessly with the client’s natural lip color.

Opt for pigments with warm undertones to mimic the natural flush of healthy lips. Consider offering a variety of shades to cater to different skin tones and desired results, ranging from soft pinks for a subtle enhancement to richer berries for a bolder look.

PMU lip pigments

Remember! Lip pigments should heal slightly lighter than they appear in the bottle, so a slightly bolder initial application may be necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does PMU ink last?

The longevity of PMU ink can vary depending on a number of factors, including the quality of the pigment used, the client’s skin type, and sun exposure. However, high-quality PMU pigments like Elite PMU pigments can typically last for several years with proper care.

Is PMU ink the same as tattoo ink?

PMU ink is similar to tattoo ink, but it is specially formulated for the face. PMU pigments typically contain smaller particles than tattoo inks, which allows them to deposit more superficially in the skin. This is important because the skin on the face is much thinner and more delicate than the skin on other parts of our body. Also, PMU pigments are lighter in color and contain less iron oxide than tattoo inks. This helps ensure that the pigments blend more naturally with the skin and fade gracefully over time.

Microblading has taken the permanent makeup (PMU) world by storm. This semi-permanent tattooing technique creates natural-looking, hair-like strokes for fuller, defined eyebrows. But for PMU artists, achieving those flawless results relies heavily on the PMU supplies and tools they use. Enter disposable microblades: the single-use heroes that prioritize safety, hygiene, and artistic precision.

Table of Contents

A Brief History of Microblading

The exact origin of microblading is a bit hazy. Some sources point to ancient Japanese practices like Irezumi, a method of tattooing using hand-held tools. However, the modern form of microblading likely emerged in Southeast Asia around 2005, gaining immense popularity across Asia before captivating the Western world in the 2010s.

Learn more about microblading in this article.

Why Microblading is So Popular

Microblading offers a wealth of benefits for clients:

  • Natural-looking results: Unlike traditional eyebrow tattoos, microblading creates delicate strokes that mimic real eyebrow hairs.

  • Low maintenance: Say goodbye to daily brow makeup routines. Microblading offers a semi-permanent solution for fuller, defined brows.

  • Time-saving: No more meticulously shaping and filling your brows every morning. Microblading saves precious time while enhancing your appearance.

  • Confidence boost: Perfectly shaped eyebrows can significantly impact your overall look and confidence. Microblading offers a natural yet noticeable improvement.

The Power of Disposable Microblades

For PMU artists, disposable microblades are more than just a convenient option. They offer a multitude of advantages over traditional reusable blades:

  • Enhanced Safety & Hygiene: Disposable blades eliminate the risk of cross-contamination between clients. Each procedure utilizes a fresh, sterile blade, minimizing the potential for infection.

  • Optimal Sharpness: New, single-use microblades boast unparalleled sharpness, allowing for precise strokes and intricate detailing. This translates to cleaner lines and a more natural, hair-like effect in the final results.

  • Consistent Performance: With disposable blades, artists can be confident they’re working with a microblade tool that delivers consistent performance throughout the procedure. This ensures predictable results and minimizes the risk of complications due to blade dullness.

  • Reduced Risk of Allergic Reactions: Certain individuals might be sensitive to the materials used in reusable blades. Replaceable blades, on the other hand, can mitigate this risk, as they are typically made from high-quality, hypoallergenic materials.

  • Streamlined Workflow: Disposable blades eliminate the need for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing reusable blades. This saves valuable time and allows artists to focus on their artistry.

  • Peace of Mind: Both artists and clients benefit from the peace of mind that comes with knowing sterile, single-use blades are employed in every procedure.

Do you need permanent makeup devices that you can use for various purposes, including lip blushing and brow powdering? We recommend you buy a quality PMU machine to make your work easy and faster. At Elite Permanent Makeup & Training Center, we sell only premier quality tools for PMU sessions. We also train those interested in going into the beauty industry.

Factors to Consider When Buying a PMU Machine

You should pay attention to the following essential details when buying PMU machines.

  1. Check if It Is Compatible With Universal Needle Cartridges

You must verify if the machine requires a specific brand or can take universal needle cartridges. PMU machines compatible with universal needle cartridges provide greater flexibility and convenience when selecting needles. This will also make your work easier and faster.

  2. Consider the Size and Ergonomic Design

Each permanent makeup procedure can last between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Therefore, the size and weight of the PMU device are important factors to consider. We recommend a lightweight device to make it easy to hold for long hours. Also, ensure that the size and ergonomic design don’t compromise its performance or durability.

  3. Decide Between a Wired and Wireless Machine

You are less likely to experience battery failure or connectivity issues with a wired PMU machine. However, wireless machines have advanced technology that helps you maneuver the procedural area easily. Therefore, your choice can depend on convenience and personal preferences. In our store, we have PMU machines that combine these two features – so you don’t have to decide.

  4. Consider the Nature of Your Work

PMU machines have different capabilities and features to make them better suited for some specific types of work. For instance, a machine designed for lip work may have a different needle configuration from the one designed for eyebrow work. This makes choosing a device based on the nature of PMU work you have.

Are you getting ready for your first PMU (Permanent Makeup) appointment? It’s essential to be
well-prepared to ensure a smooth and successful visit. Here are some crucial tips to follow before
your PMU appointment:

Confirm Your Appointment
The first step is to double-check the date and time of your appointment. Make sure to confirm with
the PMU artist or clinic to avoid any misunderstandings. Being punctual and organized will help you
start your PMU journey on the right foot.

Fill Out Consent Forms
Before your visit, make sure to have all necessary consent forms filled out. This will save time during
your appointment and allow you to focus on discussing your desired look with the PMU artist.
Consent forms are essential for both parties to ensure a safe and successful procedure. Please be
aware filming and content creation development of services performed will be documented, edited
and use for social media marketing (additional consent form must also be signed)

Avoid Caffeine and Alcohol
In the days leading up to your appointment, try to avoid consuming excessive amounts of caffeine
and alcohol. These substances can thin your blood, leading to increased bleeding during the PMU
procedure. To ensure the best results, it’s best to limit your intake of these beverages.

Hydrate Your Skin
Properly hydrated skin is essential for a successful PMU procedure. Make sure to drink plenty of
water in the days leading up to your appointment to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.
Moisturized skin will hold the pigment better and result in a more even color payoff.

Avoid Retinol Products
Retinol products can increase skin sensitivity and thin the skin, making it more prone to bleeding
during the PMU procedure. It’s best to avoid using retinol products on the treatment area for at least
one week before your appointment. This will help minimize any potential complications and ensure a
smooth procedure.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep
Adequate rest is crucial before any cosmetic procedure, including PMU. Make sure to get a good
night’s sleep before your appointment to ensure you are well-rested and relaxed. This will help you
feel more comfortable during the procedure and promote better healing afterward.

Communicate Clearly with Your PMU Artist
Before your appointment, take some time to think about your desired PMU look. Be prepared to
communicate clearly with your PMU artist about your expectations, preferences, and any concerns
you may have. Clear communication will ensure you and the artist are on the same page, leading to
a more satisfying outcome.

Preparing for your PMU appointment is essential for a successful and satisfying experience. By
following these tips and taking care of your skin and body leading up to your appointment, you can
ensure the best results possible. Remember to communicate openly with your PMU artist and trust
the process. With proper preparation and realistic expectations, you can achieve the PMU look of
your dreams.
